周昌发艺名秦愚，1948年生于陕西潼关杨震故里。幼性愚顽学前写字受家父一掌之训，承蒙教诲，方知杨震故事，方懂行善积德、吃亏是福、清白做人、诚实做事、吃苦耐劳的道理。从此爱上写字，立志习字终生不辍。退休后系统学习书法理论，决心为弘扬中华传统文化儒释道和杨震精神，竭尽余力，服务于社会和民众。
2008年汶川地震捐出33幅历届参展获奖作品，慈善拍卖：2010年在南宁历藏文化华诞61周年竞拍两幅作品，2011年参加首届中国风书画艺术展并入围书两幅作品：潼关“颂杨震促廉洁”展出并被收藏两幅作品：五幅作品选刊载于《中国艺术家》杂志;2012年两幅作品参加南宁南伦书画春季拍卖会、七副作品参加南宁博物馆通宝堂作品展;2014年“相约北京全国中老年文学艺术大赛”获书法一等奖，3月5日书画频道新春展播入选一幅“龙马精神”被展播此作品同时被“盛世中华”入围并制作国礼红瓷，授予“国礼红瓷书法艺术家”称号：此后在“首届中国橘洲书法艺术展”、“璀璨中华”、“光辉旗帜不朽丰碑”“最美夕阳红”、“中国龙中国梦”、“中国梦”“中国书画通鉴”等十几个大赛中获奖;“全国首届草人杯”获优秀奖;“榜样中国”获银奖;“第二届中国梦想杯获铜奖;这些作品均·入选成书;并分别授各种荣誉称号;龙的传人全球华人书龙画马大赛活动荣获龙头提名奖：四副作品参加中国当当实力派书画专家称号;部分作品被选入，2015年8幅作品被邀入选”新长城艺术梦“官网展播其中”龙马扬天威“被入选篆刻八达岭新长城壁画。6幅作品入选”陕西英才“25期，一幅作品入选2015”中华英才“杂志。
现为中国艺术家协会会员、青海书法家协会会员、老干部书画学会会员、西部兰亭书画院和秦晋豫金三角文化艺术研究院院士，华夏夕阳红书画艺术院理事，华夏博学国际文化交流中心会员、南宁通宝堂书画院常务副院长，世界和平宗教联盟北京富华泰宇书画院副院长。
诗文当为时而赋，书画更应世而作。成绩是起点更是鞭策，我决心踏实学习博大精深书法国粹，为中国传统文化走向世界，保卫和平，竭尽全力。
Zhou Changfa, also known as Qin Yu, was born in 1948 in the hometown of Yang Zhen in Tongguan, Shaanxi. Childhood foolishness and stubbornness in handwriting were taught by my father, and it was through his teachings that I came to know the story of Yang Zhen. Only then did I understand the principles of doing good, accumulating virtue, being a good person, being honest in doing things, and enduring hardships. From then on, I fell in love with writing and aspired to continue practicing it for a lifetime. After retirement, I will study calligraphy theory systematically and am determined to promote traditional Chinese culture, Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, and the spirit of Yang Zhen. I will spare no effort to serve society and the people.
In the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, 33 award-winning works from previous exhibitions were donated for charity auctions. In 2010, two works were auctioned on the 61st anniversary of the birth of Li Zang Culture in Nanning. In 2011, two works were included in the first Chinese style calligraphy and painting art exhibition. Two works were exhibited and collected in Tongguan's "Ode to Yang Zhen for Promoting Integrity". Five works were selected for publication in the magazine "Chinese Artists"; In 2012, two works participated in the Nanning Nanlun Painting and Calligraphy Spring Auction, and seven works participated in the Nanning Museum Tongbaotang Exhibition; In 2014, "Meet Beijing National Literature and Art Contest for the Middle aged and the Elderly" won the first prize in calligraphy. On March 5, the Spring Festival Exhibition of the Painting and Calligraphy Channel selected a piece of "Dragon Horse Spirit", which was broadcast. At the same time, this work was shortlisted by "China in the Prosperous Age" and produced national red porcelain. It was awarded the title of "National Red Porcelain Calligraphy Artist". Later, it won prizes in more than a dozen competitions, including the "First Chinese Juzhou Calligraphy Art Exhibition", "Bright China", "Monument of the Glorious Banner", "The Most Beautiful Red Sunset", "Chinese Loong Chinese Dream", "Chinese Dream" and "Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Comprehensive Learning"; The "First National Drawman Cup" won the Excellence Award; 'Role Model China' won a silver award; The second China Dream Cup won a bronze award; all of these works were selected into books and awarded various honorary titles; the "Descendants of the Dragon" Global Chinese Book, Dragon, Painting and Horse Competition won the leading nomination award; four works participated in the Chinese Dangdang Strong Calligraphy and Painting Expert title; some works were selected, and in 2015, eight works were invited to be selected for the "New Great Wall Art Dream" official website exhibition. "Dragon and Horse Soaring in the Sky" was selected for the seal carving of the Badaling New Great Wall mural. Six works were selected for the 25th issue of "Shaanxi Talents", and one work was selected for the 2015 "Chinese Talents" magazine.
Currently a member of the Chinese Artists Association, Qinghai Calligraphers Association, Retired Cadres Calligraphy and Painting Society, Academician of the Western Lanting Calligraphy and Painting Academy and the Qin Jin Yu Golden Triangle Cultural and Art Research Institute, Director of the Huaxia Sunset Red Calligraphy and Painting Art Academy, Member of the Huaxia International Cultural Exchange Center, Executive Vice President of the Nanning Tongbaotang Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and Vice President of the Beijing Fuhua Taiyu Calligraphy and Painting Academy of the World Peace Religion Alliance.
Poetry and prose should be timely poetry, while calligraphy and painting should be tailored to the needs of the world. Grades are not only the starting point but also the driving force. I am determined to study the profound and profound calligraphy and national quintessence diligently, and do my utmost to promote Chinese traditional culture to the world, defend peace, and do my best.
